Finishing the half-bath in the Bathhouse.

We covered the ceiling in the same wood that the walls of the kitchen were done with. Richard had sanded them a year and a half ago, so they were ready to be placed.

When a cinder block wall is covered with plaster it needs a layer of tar paper backed lathe to hold the plaster to the wall.Richard is using a power drill to attach the lathe to the wall. He needed to drill a hole first them he used a tap screw to hold the lathe to the wall. The lathe is applied with the lathe cupping upward as to hold the plaster in place.

The ceiling has been varnished and all of the lathe is in place ready for the scratch coat of cement. It is the first coat that bonds the lathe to the wall.
